Trolling for Summer fish

Because of the high water temps in most lakes, there is oxygen depletion in deeper water, which pushes the fish into shallower water. That doesn't leave trolling out of the picture, I trolled in 8ft of water with shallow crankbaits that imitate bluegills and other baitfish and did fairly well I caught multiple Bass and Northern pike. My biggest fish have been a 6lb Bass and a 12lb pike. I generally choose to troll on smaller lakes so I have a better chance to catch bigger fish in a shorter amount of time.

Summer Smallies

I caught loads of Smallmouth Bass on Green Lake fishing with 4in Berkley Powerbait Grubs and some Rapala Skitter Props and Pops.

Summer Frog Bass

Try using Topwater Frogs in the Slop for Summer Bass

Spinner Rig Walleyes

Try using Spinner Rigs tipped with Crawlers on a cloudy overcast day and you can end up with a few nice eyeballs.

Walleyes In the Summer

We were on a small lake near Spicer, MN and we were fishing for Northern Pike with jigs and sucker minnows and we caught some nice walleyes in the weeds
