Bass Opener Has Begun

I patterned both species Large and Smallmouth Bass because we had a long winter the water temps are still cool in certain areas of Minnesota. I found an abundance of Smallmouth Bass on the first brake into deep water off of there spawning flats. The water temp was 53 Degrees on the lake that I was targeting Smallmouth in. I was using jerkbaits to catch most all of the Smallmouth Bass. I chose a much smaller lake for fishing Largemouth Bass because it would then have warmer water temps. The lake I was on was 58 degrees and the Largemouth were holding tight to cover. the bass were on the move to spawn I was flipping jigs on the bank and caught 15 19+ inch bass.
